\u00e2\u20ac\u0153In my distress I called to the Lord; I cried to my God for help. \u00c2\u00a0From his temple he heard my voice; my cry came before him, into his ears.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>What does it mean to you that God who created this universe and still runs it, is not too busy to hear you out?<\/li>\n<li>If you quickly read God\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s response to my cries (v. 7-15), you note his anger is directed to your <em>problem-maker<\/em>!\u00c2\u00a0 Now read v. 16-19. \u00c2\u00a0How does he say he responds to your cries?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Psalm 22:1-11<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>\u00c2\u00a0 My God, my God,<\/strong> <strong>why have you forsaken me?<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0Why are you so far from saving me,<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0so far from my cries of anguish?<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><sup>2\u00c2\u00a0<\/sup>My God, I cry out by day, but you do not answer,<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0by night, but I find no rest.<\/strong><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><strong><sup>3\u00c2\u00a0<\/sup>Yet you are enthroned as the Holy One;<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0you are the one Israel praises.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><sup>4\u00c2\u00a0<\/sup>In you our ancestors put their trust;<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0they trusted and you delivered them.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><sup>5\u00c2\u00a0<\/sup>To you they cried out and were saved;<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0in you they trusted and were not put to shame.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong><sup>6\u00c2\u00a0<\/sup>But I am a worm and not a man,<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0scorned by everyone, despised by the people.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><sup>7\u00c2\u00a0<\/sup>All who see me mock me;<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0they hurl insults, shaking their heads.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><sup>8\u00c2\u00a0<\/sup>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153He trusts in the Lord,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d they say,<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00e2\u20ac\u0153let the Lord rescue him.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Let him deliver him,<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0since he delights in him.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong><sup>9\u00c2\u00a0<\/sup>Yet you brought me out of the womb;<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0you made me trust in you, even at my mother\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s breast.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><sup>10\u00c2\u00a0<\/sup>From birth I was cast on you;<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0from my mother\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s womb you have been my God.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong><sup>11\u00c2\u00a0<\/sup>Do not be far from me,<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0for trouble is near<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0and there is no one to help.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Do you ever feel like the author in verses 1-2?<\/li>\n<li>Does it always help to hear how God helped others (v. 4-5)?<\/li>\n<li>What does the author think of himself (v. 6)?<\/li>\n<li>Do you ever have others, or even yourself, \u00c2\u00a0question your faith and\/or your God?<\/li>\n<li>From verses 9-11, \u00c2\u00a0how long does the author see God involved in <em>life<\/em>? \u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0Does that help now?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Related Posts:<a title=\"Bonding Makes Lasting Relationship\" href=\" http:\/\/warmanloving.org\/site\/?p=327\" target=\"_blank\">\u00c2\u00a0 Bonding Makes Lasting Relationships<\/a>, <a title=\"Living the Lesson: Bonding Makes Lasting Relationships (Part 1)\" href=\"http:\/\/warmanloving.org\/site\/?p=326\" target=\"_blank\">Living the Lesson: Bonding Makes Lasting Relationships (Part I)<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Related Posts:\u00c2\u00a0 Bonding Makes Lasting Relationships, Living the Lesson: Bonding Makes Lasting Relationships (Part I) Psalm 10:17,18 -\u00c2\u00a0 \u00e2\u20ac\u0153You hear oh Lord the desire of the afflicted, you encourage them, you listen to their cry, defending the fatherless and the oppressed.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d In your family of origin, if you came crying about your affliction, how did your dad\/mom respond to you?
