\"Sarah<\/a>Parenting . . .\u00c2\u00a0 It’s a physical, emotional, spiritual, and financial investment.\u00c2\u00a0 And like all investments, we want it to grow, and hopefully, gain some huge dividends!\u00c2\u00a0 So how do we make wise investments in our children?\u00c2\u00a0 First, we need to look at the goal, and we came up with this one:<\/p>\n

Parenting is a process of helping your children live successfully on this earth and to prepare them for heaven.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Our homes bridge our sons & daughters from dependence<\/strong> to independence<\/strong>.\u00c2\u00a0 When they were infants, we responded to every cry because they were wholly dependent on us for their needs.\u00c2\u00a0 As they grow, it is the desire to gradually release them to full responsibility so that they become independent adults.\u00c2\u00a0 Of course, there are risks<\/strong>.\u00c2\u00a0 Our kids have their own responsibility to make choices.\u00c2\u00a0 There are no guarantees that all the choices will be “good” ones.\u00c2\u00a0 Parenting involves sacrifices.\u00c2\u00a0 It may feel<\/em><\/span> like years before we see the dividends<\/strong> (sleeping through the night, potty-training), and it may be<\/em><\/span> years before we see the outcome of our investment (responsible, caring adult).<\/p>\n

So how do we nurture our investment?\u00c2\u00a0 By making deposits!<\/em><\/p>\n

The health of a family is dependent on your health, so it is important to invest<\/strong> in yourself so that out of your overflow<\/em>, you can give to your spouse, children, and family.\u00c2\u00a0 Make some deposits<\/strong> into your spirit <\/strong>by having time with God daily.\u00c2\u00a0 Keep yourself accountable through a bible study, small group, or Sunday school class.\u00c2\u00a0 Deposit into your soul<\/strong> by stimulating your mind by learning something new.\u00c2\u00a0 Make some long-term plans and follow through with them.\u00c2\u00a0 Lastly, don’t forget to make deposits for your body<\/strong>.\u00c2\u00a0 When you work hard and play hard, you also need to rest well, eat well, and exercise so that you can manage stress and practice forgiveness through the day.<\/p>\n

We are responsible for own maturity at every level.\u00c2\u00a0 Don’t wait for your spouse to change before you do.\u00c2\u00a0 Instead, work on the changes that you need to make personally.\u00c2\u00a0 Also communicate with your family the changes that are needed with your spouse and children so that you can grow as ONE body.\u00c2\u00a0 Be encouraged that you working toward a common goal and enjoy contributing to the next generation!<\/p>\n

Therefore we do not lose heart.\u00c2\u00a0 Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.\u00c2\u00a0 For the light and momentary troubles are achieving us for an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.\u00c2\u00a0 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen.\u00c2\u00a0 For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. <\/em><\/p>\n
