One of us is used to doing what was told by parents, as an act of respect, and the other is less bound to that standard.\u00c2\u00a0 How much in-law input should we consider in making our decisions?<\/strong><\/p>\n

There are cultural differences that affect what is showing respect to your parents.\u00c2\u00a0 These are important discussions before you get married.\u00c2\u00a0 Do listen to input from your in-laws, but make sure that the decisions come from the two of you.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 We recommend that when you do, that the \u00e2\u20ac\u0153child of\u00e2\u20ac\u009d shares it with their parent, with both of you present.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

My girlfriend shows a great amount of emotion, and I show little emotion.\u00c2\u00a0 What advice would you give us?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t get married!\u00c2\u00a0 Just kidding!\u00c2\u00a0 In reality, you are not going to change each other\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s personalities.\u00c2\u00a0 Be prepared to not have a lot of emotion after marriage if you do not see emotion now.\u00c2\u00a0 On the other hand, both of you can learn behaviors to move in the other\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s direction.\u00c2\u00a0 Just because your partner does not express emotion, does not mean he does not have emotions.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 Since you cannot control another human, make sure that if he\/she does not show more emotion in the future, you would still commit to him\/her for life.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 <\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n
